Ketchup is the most overrated condiment in the world. Dare I say, it’s quite a bad one. People act like it’s some universal, heavenly, god-given gift and a perfect flavor enhancer. The reality? It’s not that good.
Ketchup doesn’t “enhance” flavors; it bulldozes over them. You can spend hours baking brioche, caramelizing onions and using the highest quality A5 Wagyu, but adding ketchup turns it from fine dining to fast food. Ketchup’s flavor is just that bad; it’s watery tomato paste (with literally no tomato flavor) overloaded with sugar.
Moral of the story? Stay away from ketchup. It’s awful.
