Boys’ tennis team ready for season

Coach: Florin Marica

2013-2014 Record: League: 12-0

2013-2014 Season Recap: The team won the the California Tennis Classic, a tournament where the best high schools in California compete. They were undefeated during the regular season and lost in CCS finals to Menlo School. During NorCal, the team lost in the semifinals to Dougherty Valley.

Star Players: Senior Neel Bedekar, junior Karthik Padmanabhan, sophomore Kailas Shekar

Key Additions: Freshman Dean Stratakos

Key Matchups: Monta Vista

Key Losses: alumnus Sanjay Kaliyar

League (De Anza or El Camino): De Anza

Prognosis: The team only lost one player from the starting lineup. With the addition of Stratakos, the team should be able to make another deep run in CCS.  “Our team is looking strong, and we have good players coming in this year,” Padmanabhan said.
