Board games play out for a memorable Homecoming

As Homecoming week looms closer, students are anticipating the much awaited dance, senior quad day performance and Homecoming football game against the Lynbrook Vikings.

Having displayed successful quad days in the past, the class of 2011 is preparing for their one last grand finale. Because it is their last year, the seniors hope to perform a skit that is completely unique and different from those of the last two years.

“We always want to show something different,” said senior Grace Kim. “Sophomore year was a kind of romatic comedy, and junior year was easy because we just followed the [movie] script and this year we just want to do something different.”

Kim said their quad day is full of twists, and although the skit and dances are assumed to go over lunch time, she hopes that the audience remains captivated by their performance.

“I’m pretty confident people will like [the quad day],” said Kim. “We’re a really spirited class and we always want to show the best.”

This year, the points obtained through the Homecoming week will be
added to the class cup, a new competition established in hopes of increasing spirit throughout the school.

As for Homecoming Court, the nominees are as follows: freshmen have voted for Raiza de Vera, Abigail Small, Kendra Yoffie, and Lindsey Webster as princesses, and Nikhil Goel, Drew Bryan, and Tony Capek for their prince. Sophomores Evelyn Lee, Hannah Johnson, and Megan Doles are the candidates for princess, while Kyle Dozier, Amin Mirzadegan, and Sasan Saadat will represent as prince. For the junior class, the nominees for princess are Anika Jhalani, Izzy Albert, Shivani Chadha, and the nominees for prince are Anthony Tsai, Myron Zhang, Manish Raghavan, and Will Edman.

Lastly, the these seniors will be given the opportunity to be given crowns as the nominees for king and queen: David Mandell, Chris Chung, Jason Shiuan, Tim Rollinson, Brandon Pierce, Aditya Dev, Grace Kim, Michelle Wang, Shea Sullivan, Whitney Hansen, Pamela Lee, and Kathryn Nobles. The King and Queen will be announced at the end of the week at the Homecoming football game.
