For 23 years, the yearbook has used Walsworth printing company for printing the annual publication.

This year, they were even awarded with the opportunity to be included in Walsworth’s Wall of Excellence, a recognition given to around 5% of the top yearbooks the company works with.

Although the class is elated to have received the award from Walsworth, adviser Megan Laws and the staff are in the process of switching to a new publisher for next year: Varsity Yearbook.

“The main reason we are switching is because Varsity Brands offers better technology, but are also a lot cheaper,” Yearbook adviser Megan Laws said.

Editor-in-chief Amy Pan said Varsity Yearbook’s services provide both high-quality printing and a better experience for yearbook submissions. After meeting with representatives at the yearbook workshop this month, Pan found that they seemed both cooperative and professional.

According to Laws, the change would save the school $20,000 a year. This would allow them to maintain or lower prices.

Even with the change in publisher, the yearbook staff is confident in the consistency of their quality layouts and designs.

“The other editors-in-chief and I worked really hard this year to ensure every page is unique, nostalgic and closely related to the theme,” Pan said. “We added a bunch of creative elements that were different from previous years and we tried our best to capture all the memories from the school year.”
