Murabito and Liddle continued training over the summer and are both eying CCS medals and possible qualification for the state championships. The rest of the team has been practicing since the start of the school year to prepare for the upcoming season, with coach Daniel Gamez leading the team through a series of preseason conditioning workouts so that the team wouldn’t be as shocked by the amount of running required during the season practices.

With a fewer wrestlers on the team — so far they have 11 — Gamez plans on “focusing on individuals and helping them meet their goals.” Though the team is smaller than it has been in previous years, Gamez remains optimistic.
