The elections commission passed out the ballots and Scantrons on the Friday before spring break, but due to a number of missing ballots, the results were not clear.

“We were missing around 300 ballots after we distributed it,” said elections committee member junior Tiffany Wang. “Either teachers did not receive them, didn’t pass them out, or forgot to turn them in [after having their classes vote]. Also, the results for some of the officer positions were too close, so we couldn’t call the results.”

As a result, the elections commission asked all teachers to re-vote during the first 10 minutes of class and as an extra measure to prevent missing ballots, the committee checked to make sure all the teachers returned the completed Scantrons.

Junior class elections also had delayed results because the original president resigned from the position soon after being elected. To fill the empty position, the other newly elected class officers held a meeting and appointed a president and a treasurer (which had been an empty position).
