Despite losing much of the team’s backbone when last year’s seniors graduated, senior Erik Martin is still confident that this year’s team can do as well as last year’s team.

“Last year’s seniors were definitely vital to the team, but I still have hope for this year,” Martin said. “The other teams in our league all have to deal with the same problem so [last year’s seniors leaving] doesn’t worry me too much.”

With the addition of many new juniors coming up from the JV team, and the return of the team’s setter, senior Elijah Yi, Martin doesn’t think that the team will have many problems.

“I’m really looking forward to the season and I hope that this is the year we prove that Saratoga boys’ volleyball isn’t the joke that it was three years ago,” Martin said.
