A student’s life is already brimming with confusion and chaos from homework, sports and extracurricular activities. And yet another element has been added to their troubles: the weather. Even though it is already fall, the weather remains as though it is still summer, causing many students to complain.
Instead of normal fall wear, they have resorted to wearing summer clothing due to the abnormally warm temperatures. The mornings are cloudy and chilly. However, by noon the weather transforms to sunny and hot. Students struggle to decide between t-shirts or long sleeve and shorts or jeans. The issue has especially escalated over the past weeks with colds around 50 and highs around 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
What is the cause of such an anomaly? One may suggest that it is a result of global warming. Unfortunately, global warming changes the climate of the earth, not just the weather of a single area. The nearby states of Oregon and Nevada are experiencing the normal fall temperatures.
Although the weather is lacking the general fall-ness, people should endure and embrace it. The cold weather will soon come, and when it does, many students will be wishing for warm weather.
This extension of summer also encourages residents to be eco-friendly. Families are saving energy by hanging clothes outside to dry and not using heaters or air conditioning since the weather is just right.
So enjoy this strange weather. It will come to an end, and you’ll soon miss these hot days of fall.
