Coach: Courtney Crase, entering first season as head coach for the boys’ team but has previously coached the girls’ team.
2010 Record: 11-4 (Overall record), 9-3 (League Record)
2010 Recap: After battling their way up to the league matches, the Falcons were unable to beat Wilcox in a key match that ended up spoiling their chances at leagues. The team finished third in their league last year.
Star Player: Sophomore Steven Cho, Utility
Key Departures: Goalie Gavin Peake and driver Tim Rollinson
Key Additions: Junior driver Jim Speedy and sophomore driver Cameron Borch
Keys to victory: Performing quick passes to create more offensive opportunities will key Falcon victories this season. Another of the team’s core strategies will be to out-swim the other team, which was effective against teams such as Lynbrook, Fremont, and Santa Clara in the De Anza lower league last year.
On losing Peak and Rollinson: “Gavin was a great goalie so it will be hard to fill his place in the cage. and Tim was a quick swimmer with lots of experience who was always extremely spirited and got the team pumped for every game. his energy and veteran skill will be missed in the pool” —junior driver Tyler Tanaka
Key number: 1. The goalie, who typically wears the jersey No. 1, will play an integral role in winning leagues this year. This year, the jersey will belong to senior Will Edman who is also entering his first year in water polo.
