You just finished eating lunch, feeling satisfied and confident to take on anything. You walk into English and say goodbye to your friends, trying to remember what was on the agenda. As you walk into class, however, it hits you: You’re having an in-class essay.
I’m sure most of us have experienced this dreadful feeling — the stress of having to do well on a difficult assignment that determines over half of your grade. Instead of assigning these essays, teachers should assign more projects.
I would prefer to have an interactive and holistic analysis of the text through a project, such as a poster, rather than a rigid and constraining essay.
Additionally, collaborating with our peers allows us to improve our communication and leadership skills, which are important to develop.
Just put away the essays and assign more projects instead, please.
