- Between the quad and gym
This is a rather satisfying open path for getting in and out of the school. You can look at giant redwood trees that date to the early 1960s while walking, too!
- Between 700s and 900s
For me, it’s one of the best paths to reach the science wing from the rest of the campus because you can see your destination all the way from the end of the hallway, and that’s a necessary motivator for me whenever I have to walk even slightly uphill.
- Between wellness center and 600s
I personally like those artsy stone circles the hallway has that you can sit on during lunch. The vibe there is just plain good.
- Behind the office
This lesser-known path is on here mainly because you get to feel like you’re being cool and sneaky for walking there out of the view of the front office windows. Like what mischief are you getting up to back there, huh?
- Between 600s and 400s
This one feels like cheating. You’re telling me I’ve been walking down this regular hallway the whole time that will now lead me straight to the main office? It’s just too perfect of a transition, maybe it just scratches my weird hallway-ramp transition itch.
- Between the library and 000s
There’re pretty trees here; you have to love the pretty murals; there’s a roof if it’s raining; and there’s a vending machine nearby for all my snack lovers. What’s not to love?
- Between wellness center and 000s
More colorful murals are here (possibly in competition for my favorite murals on campus) and there are some nice shaded tables to sit at.
- Between robotics and the science wing that extends to J-room and the math quad
A very efficient path if you want to walk from one end to the other of the entire campus to avoid the bustling of the main through-hallway or the quad! I usually take it over the other two routes even if the through-hallway is closer. And, of course, the ship mural is absolutely gorgeous.
- Between library and sports fields (aka, the Hyde Park area)
Walking through there feels great, without roofs of the hallway so you can feel the sunlight, even if it does feel like a bit of a long path. I like it because the rest of the school feels more like blocks of cement and there you get to see some grass (artificial, but still), and a nice big sky and some pretty trees.
- Between library and the engineering room
Absolutely GOATED hallway, equipped with both a nearby comfortable single-stall bathroom AND absolutely beautiful trees AND a way to look into the library from an angle that makes it look kind of like a nice cafe. I have a soft spot for it especially since I’m a MAP student and have to cut through there often to reach the giant media building MMA.
