Senior Nina Mohanty, ASB Vice President, could very well have another moniker, that of Saratoga High’s Prima Ballerina. Nina started dancing when she was three and has never turned back. Her mother took her to the San Francisco ballet in her formidable years for inspiration.
“Seeing some one move in that way is just amazing, and I wanted to be just like that”
Dancing for her is not only a pass time, its a way of life, persevering against even the wishes of her parents. When she was four she told her father that she wanted to be a ballerina, at which point her father said “Nina, if you are a ballerina you will starve on the streets and die.” At which point she decided that she would indeed become one. “I don’t think there’s anything I love more than dancing. Its like me speaking in way that I can’t speak in any other form.”
