Career Day returns after 5- year hiatus

Career Day is making a return to campus on March 2-3 — the first time the school has held the event since 2015.

In January, students will take a survey in which they will rank several career presentation choices and will be placed in one career presentation session per day based on their responses. Career Day will occur during an extended tutorial each day.

The event is being planned by parent co-chairs Beth Kingsley and Parul Samdarshi in coordination with assistant principals Brian Safine, Kerry Mohnike as well as guidance secretary Kathy Sheridan.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring back Career Day after a five-year hiatus,” Kingsley said. “We think that Career Day will provide students with a dynamic and tangible experience that facilitates a connection between their academic pursuits and professional endeavors in the future.”

In total, Kingsley estimates that there will be approximately 45 professionals per day in fields as diverse as engineering or cooking. The Career Day team is looking for volunteer speakers now.
