Rotary Art Show amazes visitors once again

Sophomore Daniel Liu arrived at the Saratoga Rotary Art on May 2nd and walked over to the SHS Interact booth to help sell water bottles to the incoming friendly visitors. Once he finished his volunteer work, he browsed the colorful array of artwork and watched the Saratoga High Jazz Band perform.
Held annually in the parking lot at West Valley College, the event captivates visitors with its variety of attractions. The main attractions were the paintings, sculptures, jewelry, fiber art, ceramics, glass and photography presented by the hundreds of artists from all over the Bay Area. Other attractions included the “Kid’s Korner,” which showcased artwork created by local elementary and middle school students, wine tasting from six wineries and a silent auction.
This year, new additions included donkey rides for children and a classic car collection, which were both well received those who attended.
The president of the Saratoga Rotary Club, Connie Palladino, said that as she walked around the show, she saw smiles from the visitors and heard the amazing live music from the stage. She saw young and old visitors strolling around the show.
“Each year we learn more, try something new and continue to thank all those who contribute to the show’s success,” Palladino said.
Proceeds from the show have returned over $2.2 million to local organizations.
