‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ makes long awaited comeback

After a much awaited season premier, the second season of the FOX TV series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is ready to air after a six-month hiatus. Stars of the show include Andy Samberg, who plays Detective Jake Peralta; Melissa Fumero, who plays Detective Amy Santiago; and Terry Crews, who plays Sergeant Terry Jeffers are ready to hit the screen again ready to further the show’s plot.

The series follows Peralta and his colleagues in the 99th precinct of the New York Police Department. The group pulls off comedic shenanigans while working as high-ranking cops. The show places an emphasis on the lighthearted side of police work, gaining viewers with its bizarre scenes, clever jokes and unique characters.

Season 1 of the series ends with Peralta going undercover to undertake a national investigation that requires him to genuinely be “fired” from the precinct. Because there are moles in the NYPD who work for the criminals he is trying to bust, Peralta agrees to embark on this mission, unsure about what would happen to him in the time that he is away.

Jake returns in the second season unhurt and successful, capturing a group of criminals high on the FBI’s Most Wanted List. Returning to his normal duties at the 99th precinct, Jake finds it hard to confront his colleague Amy, whom he had professed his love to at the end of the first season before going undercover.

Amy, now in another relationship, finds herself hesitant to speak and interact with Jake the way she used to. Eventually at the end of the first episode, they decide to remain friends and their old friendship is rekindled.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” although only a year old, brings very juvenile humor to a seemingly intense working environment to deliver the message that not everything in a police station has to be serious.

The second season of this show promises to be comical yet enticing with rich new plotlines sure to keep viewers all over the world on the edge of their seats throughout. The characters are sure to provide the show’s audience with more episodes of insane adventures and good friendships.
