At roughly 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, students reported seeing a fire in the bathroom across from English teacher Michael Kim’s room, 706.
Junior Anshika Maheshwari was at Mock Trial practice when she saw a firefighter. She said there was caution tape outside the boys’ bathroom and four or five firefighters standing by the bathroom’s door talking to assistant principal Kerry Mohnike.
A student who was on campus at the time of the incident wrote in a Facebook status, "There was a toilet paper roll that was [burnt] to a crisp, and [the bathroom] wall is black.”
The student speculated that “someone just set the paper on fire and it spread.”
Junior Max Chang, who was also at Mock Trial, said that the firemen just put up tape across the entrance of the bathroom.
“Nothing terribly exciting,” he said.
Assistant principal Kerry Mohnike could not be reached for comment.
