Scrolling through her vlogs from as early as 2022, senior Eunseo Eo is brought back to memories of the past: refereeing at taekwondo tournaments, baking at home, going out for boba with friends and navigating through the crowds at a mall.
For Eo, these 5-10 minute vlogs are more than just videos of herself; they are a record of who she was before — and a reflection of the person she has grown to become.
Starting in her sophomore year, Eo initially posted video vlogs on Instagram about her day competing or refereeing at taekwondo competitions.
After she stopped competing in taekwondo, she transitioned to vlogging hangouts with friends, travels and baking videos, while also moving most of her content to YouTube (@woonseo). While she doesn’t have a prominent following, Eo said that the videos are more for herself than for others.
“I wanted to kind of have a record of what I’ve been doing,” she said. “I realized that, throughout high school, we go through a lot of changes, and looking back at it really kind of hits differently: [I see] how much I changed, how different I looked back then, how I felt and how I talked.”

Eo learned to edit videos as part of her Korean middle school’s student council.
“I was in charge of making the posters, while my friend was in charge of making the videos,” Eo said. “We would help and teach each other how to use different websites and tools, [which is how] I started to expose myself to editing videos.”
Schoolwork and extracurricular activities have gotten in the way of her having a consistent vlogging schedule, but now — as a second-semester senior — she plans on vlogging more often. She also plans on buying an actual vlog camera to use on trips with friends.
After high school, Eo hopes she can continue vlogging and archiving her life through video.
“It’s something to look back on, and it really helps you appreciate what you have right now,” Eo said. “What I post is not very special; it’s just daily, mundane stuff, but you find really special moments within that.”
