At 2:15 p.m., my motivation is at an all time high.
I’ll start math after five minutes, I think. I can finish chemistry and history today! (For reference, I have never actually been this productive.)
As I lie on my bed and scroll through Instagram, that break becomes 10 minutes, then 20, then 60 without any signs of slowing down.
Suddenly it’s 10 p.m. and I’ve gotten my third snack, laughed at my fifth YouTube video and completed one assignment.
If I was able to change my study schedule, believe me, I would. I’d wake up every morning bright and early at 5 a.m. to finish homework. Unfortunately, my sliver of motivation only appears at 1 a.m. after sporadic napping. Why? I think the perpetual messiness of my room never fails to distract me from my schoolwork, and, after all, who doesn’t want 20 extra minutes of sleep in the afternoon? That’s an offer I can’t pass.
This is exactly what my situation was like last semester; online learning and the distractions in my room keep me from staying motivated. If anyone has tips for productivity, yes, this is a cry for help.
