As any bored teenager would do amid this shelter in place, I was on my daily scroll through Youtube when a trending video caught my eye—a diss track. But it wasn’t from Jake Paul and Team Ten, YouTubers notorious for their music videos hating on other creators. This time, the diss track was from popular TikTokers Bryce Hall and Josh Richards.
The two obscenely sing provocative lines while sitting in the hot tub of the Sway House as they cuss out fellow TikToker Chase Hudson, known as “lilhuddy” on the app.
Their viral diss track video was aimed at Hudson for trying to get together with Richards’s girlfriend, Nessa Barrett, while he was dating the most popular TikTok star, Charli D’amelio.
Hudson and D’amelio first announced that they were dating their status in February, but many fans suspected their relationship to be a PR stunt, or that Hudson was using D’amelio’s sudden fame to promote himself.
Personally, I don’t think Hudson deserved D’amelio since he only gained more fame from their relationship while she was left hurt by his cheating actions.
Although Hall and Richards could have kept the situation quiet, they exposed Hudson and hurt D’amelio in the process. They fed off their situation in order to gain more fame for themselves so they could be in the spotlight. The two shouldn’t have used D’amelioand Hudson’s relationship as a stunt, but let the couple work through the matter personally and out of the spotlight.
Tabloids are dissecting their relationship to see if Hudson treated D’amelio badly during their relationship, which he probably did, but their relationship should be personal to themselves and only themselves.
D’amelio’s mother, Heidi D’amelio, also believes this as she tweeted a paragraph speaking out against the rumors.
"Ugh this is disgusting!! No one but D’amelio and Chase know what is going on with them! Everyone has decided they know what happened,” Heidi said. “How can anyone have these thoughts? They are horrible!! Please spread positivity!!! Please!! Always!!!"
But this hasn’t stopped fans and many tabloids from magnifying the relationship status of D’amelio and Hudson. Finally after staying silent on the matter, both D’amelio and Hudson went to their respective instagram stories to confirm the breakup on April 14.
With the increase of scrutiny, Richards and Hall have been given much more publicity, causing them to continue mentioning the diss track in many Q&A Youtube videos regarding the subject.
The duo even posted many TikToks of them going to the Hype House to hand Hudson merch, having him react to their diss track and playfully cursing each other out. Tensions seem to be running high as shown by their rude tweets and retweets.
Hudson’s tweet, “I love one woman. Do not tell lies.” In response, Hall responded with, “The only lie I see is this tweet.” Barrett then retweeted Bryce’s tweet, joking about how her finger slipped.
Fans are going crazy with the amount of drama they have on their hands, and D’amelio is only hurting from Hall and Richard’s actions, which they never got reprimanded for. Instead, the diss track only put them in the spotlight more, and taught them that they can continue to act that way and hurt others because they get positive attention out of it.
Many fans have turned against Hudson as they find out more information, and D’amelio is gaining more publicity for treating the situation calmly and away from the media. There has never been this much TikTok drama before, and stuck-at-home fans are eating it up.
