As students enter into their last few weeks of school, several groups on campus have begun to establish their new leaders for the coming year. So far, the new editor-in-chiefs of the Saratoga Falcon and drum majors for the marching band have been announced.
The drum majors for 2013-2014 are juniors Lauren Casey-Clyde, Tim Casey-Clyde, Anup Kar and Henry Ling.
The Casey-Clydes, who are twins, expressed enthusiasm at the thought of being drum majors together next year.
“We have a really good relationship and we’re not too competitive with each other,” Tim said. “We’re not afraid of criticizing each other if we see something that can be improved.”
Kar is most excited for next year’s band show.
“This year’s show was awesome and we did really cool things,” Kar said. “Every year you try to one-up [the previous show], so I’m really excited to see what our show’s like next year and what we can do with it.”
In the coming year, the Falcon will have four editors-in-chief, two for each staff rather than the traditional one. Adviser Mike Tyler decided to make the change following a staff vote.
The editors-in-chief for third period are Sarah Finely and Samuel Liu, while Cristina Curcelli and Karen Sung will hold the role for fourth period.
