Irked band members beg the source of these sounds to cease their music, but this is an average occurrence in the life of a percussionist, and others finally ignore the persistent noise. Percussionists are much more than the instruments they play: They form two sub-groups in their section, each of which has its own distinct culture. Although the range of Mexican food I’ve had has been limited to Chipotle and Taco Bell, I still believe I have good judgment in food. Unfortunately, La Vick’s didn’t live up to its reputation. When I walked up the steps to enter the restaurant, there was a stench from the trash area near the door … ugh. Automatic 1 star. Very unsanitary. I came in right before the start of lunch hour, so the wait was about 7-10 minutes.
