The ‘neither-either’ grammar police need to check themselves February 13, 2024 — by Divya Vadlakonda Graphic by Annie LiuWhy unlearn this if I’m right? Saving the world, one letter at a time. Why is it that I can’t say “me, either?” It just sounds better than “me, neither,” with the “n” that is too grating on my tongue. Saying “me, either” requires less energy than “neither,” which can be used for more productive things like world peace. My response to the grammar police would be this chilling bar: Focus on yourself and don’t dim my light. I have been bullied and berated for saying this phrase, and I cannot stand it anymore.
