525 students celebrated the annual event hosted on May 18 on the triple-decker San Francisco Hornblower Cruise as it toured the San Francisco Bay.

As the wind howled and students held onto their coats, the San Francisco Bay Hornblower Cruise ship coasted through the San Francisco Bay during an evening of prom celebrations on May 18. More than 500 students and staff members packed the boat’s three floors, and attendees enjoyed a dance floor, a photo booth and more.

Inspired by this year’s theme, “Princess and the Frog,”  dinner tables were decorated with vines, candles and lanterns with designs from the classic Disney film. Attendees enjoyed dinner from a menu that included Caesar salad, chicken breast, alfredo pasta, mashed potatoes, bread and desserts including fruits, brownies and cheesecake.

While students on the second floor formed a mosh pit and danced to songs like “Mr. Brightside” by the Killers and “CARNIVAL” by Kanye West, those on the third-floor deck had the chance to take in views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and San Francisco skyline.

After more than three hours of partying and celebration, the cruise docked back at San Francisco’s Pier 3 at around 11 p.m. and students boarded back onto 10 buses that took them back to the high school, where they arrived at midnight.
