Twelve brave boys have stepped forward to prove that have what it takes to be the first ever Mr. Saratoga.

This fundraiser will be a mock-pageant for boys in every grade. The only requirement is to be present on the day of the show: Jan. 28. The winner of the show will be granted the title of Mr. Saratoga. The event will take place at McAfee Center and costs $15 for a ticket.

The rounds of the pageant will be formal wear, swim wear, display of talent and a Q&A session.

The seniors got the idea from Branham High School and thought it would be an interesting concept to try as a fundraiser.

According to senior class officer Josh Pi, the main purpose is to provide people with an out-of-the-box fundraiser that is entertaining for the audience as well as for the contestants themselves.

Although the initial signups for the event were slow, the event garnered 12 contestants, mostly seniors and sophomores.

Senior Samir Ingle decided to sign up for the pageant when his friend encouraged him to participate.

“I look forward to it raising a lot of money for our class, and hopefully be a great and fun experience for everyone,” Ingle said.
