If you like Daniel Caesar, you should listen to Korean R&B artist Dean

Dean and the K-pop R&B scene present underappreciated wealth of soulful melodies

K-pop has gained worldwide prominence over the past couple of decades. However, under the radar of K-pop’s success lies an underappreciated aspect of the Korean music industry: Korean R&B.

Dean, a Korean R&B singer-songwriter, is underrated in K-pop and on an international scale. While Dean has only released one full album since 2016, “130 mood: TRBL,” he’s released multiple singles, such as hit track “Instagram.” He’s also collaborated and produced songs for other Korean R&B artists.

Dean’s soulful voice complements his relaxed instrumentals perfectly, and his lyrics, although in Korean, are filled with meaning. If Dean releases more titles and another album, he might become a big name in the Korean music industry and maybe even in America.
