Dear SHS parents, PLEASE let me back out of the parking lot after school March 7, 2024 — by Anika Kapasi Photo by Anika KapasiParents crowding the parking lot after a Blue Day dismissal. Instead of blocking student drivers, please use the designated zones to pick up your child. To Saratoga High parents: PLEASE LET ME GO HOME AFTER SCHOOL. Stop driving into and parking in the student established parking rows to pick up your kid. When parent drivers block all exit routes, I end up having to wait 30 minutes before being able to start my car. School days are already long enough and it’s incredibly frustrating to not even get the chance to back out of the parking lot — which might I add, is not even meant for you to park in. To anyone that argues that student drivers are the problem — sorry, who’s breaking the rules here? Besides, students have been more courteous than any parent I have encountered in the parking lot. It isn’t my fault that your kid can’t drive, nor can walk at a reasonable pace to get to your car on time. There are dropoff and pickup zones for a reason. Use them.
