West Valley College closed its campus and evacuated its students after school officials received a bomb threat warning at 10 a.m. on March 1.  Nearby Redwood Middle School began to operate under shelter in place conditions, which was lifted later in the day.

The alert system notified senior Atirath Kosireddy, who is in the Middle College program and was at home during the incident.

"The system sends emails and text messages too, so I checked my email and phone. They both warned about the bomb threat,” Kosireddy said.

According to ABC news, a student found evidence of a credible bomb threat. The school’s administration was notified and issued the warning to be sent out.

Kosireddy also posted a Facebook status that said, “Guys, DO NOT GO TO CLASS at West Valley today. Someone made a bomb threat.”

Authorities have done sweep searches and investigated the area. They did not find a suspect, and West Valley resumed classes the next day.
