Those going to Winter Formal this weekend can expect to be in  a winter wonderland in a dance inspired by the popular Christmas song “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” The dance will occur in the Large Gym on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m.

“This theme was chosen to set the mood of winter formal to have an endearing and classy touch,” senior Dance Commission Head Jade Bisht said.

Tickets start at $23 with ASB and $25 without, but will rise to $28 and $30 respectively.

In 2010, the Winter Formal was held off campus, encouraging the current ASB to look at options for off-campus venues for the Winter Formal.

“We thought [an off-campus venue] would be something fun for students to try,” junior ASB vice president Luke Salin said. “However, it’s getting closer to the date of the dance and we have not found a good venue that is not too similar to a prom venue.”

At the end of the planning, the Dance Commission and the ASB decided to have the dance held in the same place as last year,  the Large Gym.

The commission also planned to treat students with finger foods and a chocolate fountain.

“We want to ensure that everyone has a fun time with friends, good food and decorations this year at Winter Ball,” Bisht said.
