They will be traveling to seven different cities and performing in five of them, along with sightseeing and spending time with fellow musicians. These cities include Madrid, Valencia, Peñíscola, Barcelona, San Sebastían, Burgos, and Zaragoza.
Senior baritone player Lauren Casey-Clyde said she looks forward to the cultural exchange between two different countries, especially in regards to music.
“Europe is in many ways the heart of music and many places are simply beautiful and a whole different cultural experience,” Casey-Clyde said.
European cities are known for famous composers such as Franz Shubert, Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn.
“Most of the composers we play were from Europe and many European cities are known for certain composers,” Casey Clyde said. “My favorite composer has got to be Amadeus Mozart, so I’m excited to see what type of history they have of him.”
For the seniors, this trip will be their last music trip of their high school career.
Senior Mohith Subbarao, a violin player, is excited to for the last big high school memory.
“I've never been to Europe so it's definitely going to be a different culture I'll be surrounded with. A majority of our time will be spent sightseeing and enjoying Spain,” Subbarao said.
