The Golden State Warriors were down 26 points at halftime against the Boston Celtics on March 1. But they were not worried, and why should they have been?

The Golden State Warriors were down 26 points at halftime against the Boston Celtics on March 1. But they were not worried, and why should they have been?

While this may seem like a Herculean feat for any other NBA player, for MVP candidate Stephen Curry, this was just a warmup.

The Warriors appear to be doing everything right. Everything seems to be clicking for them. While small, forward Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the league, shooting guard Klay Thompson gets buckets and Curry has set a record for the most three-pointers in one season at 286.

This season, the Warriors went 67-15, tying for the sixth best record of all time in the NBA. They have the most wins this season and are playing the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the playoffs.

As diehard Warriors fans, our loyalty has really paid off this season. We both expected them to perform well this season, but we weren’t expecting them to be this good. This season is put in perspective when compared to the Warriors’ history.

With a average winning percentage of just 46.7%, the Warriors are greatly exceeding expectations with a season winning percentage of 81.7%.

Leading Golden State’s great play is Stephen Curry. With this career-best season, Curry is cementing his status as the greatest shooter of all time. Remember his game winner against the Orlando Magic? Dribble up court, in-and-out dribble, step to the left, pull up. Swish. Shots like that are becoming the norm for the “human torch.”

In fact, this has happened an incredible 286 times this season; Curry broke the record for the most three-pointers in a single season.

It hasn’t been a bad season for the shooting guard Klay Thompson either. He had 37 points in one quarter against the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 23.

We can still remember that amazing quarter: no matter where he stood on the pitch, his shots went in. He made all 13 of his shots, including nine three-pointers. Thompson simply could not miss. He probably even tried to miss once, but the ball just rolled into the hoop (#JustKlayProblems).

If there is one thing we have learned from this season, it’s that when Thompson makes two three-pointers in a row, the third three-pointer is going in. He is unstoppable after he makes two three-pointers in a row. Even when guarded by a great defender like shooting guard Tony Allen, he still makes the next shot.

All jokes aside, this season has been amazing for the Warriors and their fans. The future seems bright for the team that we all root for; we could not be happier.

With the season in the books, it is now time to look forward to the playoffs. As the Warriors’ backup shooting guard Leandro Barbosa would say, “We gonna be championship.”
