As the sophomore, junior and senior classes work on Homecoming, the freshman class is scrambling to start preparing for their own quad day. On Sept. 2, members of the freshman class voted for candidates running for class officer positions.

Roshan Verma has been elected as president, Deyshna Pai, as vice president, Patrick Li as treasurer and Daniel Bessonav as secretary. Two appointed class representatives are Nevin Prasad and Cameron Lin, and the School Site Council representatives are Julia Deng and Sasha Picard.

Though the new officers have no experience with events such as Homecoming and Spring Fling, Bessonav said he has set personal goals for the year.

I really have no concrete expectations going into my first year in office; however, I’m set on doing my very best, and learning everything I can along the way,” Bessonav said.

Although they are behind other classes in terms of Homecoming, the new leaders already have their own hopes, goals and expectations. For example, their leadership is already striving to get dances organized and start with decorations.

“Our goal this year is to pull off a Homecoming performance that doesn't seem amateur,” Pai said. “We are working hard to plan and organize our decorations and skit this year in order to match, if not exceed, the caliber of the other classes.”
