The  two orchestras are hosting their annual concert exchange with Lynbrook high school’s two orchestras on Nov. 1 at the McAfee.

“It has sort of become a tradition to invite Lynbrook over every year for the concert and a get-together dinner,” said senior Gloria Liou, the orchestra’s concert master.

The two schools will convene for a concert before the dinner, and then another concert after the dinner.

“I look forward to the dinner the most because the food is always good, and it’s always fun to meet new kids,” Liou said. “Sometimes I recognize some Lynbrook kids from summer programs, and it’s always fun to catch up with them.”

This concert gives the Saratoga orchestra a chance to recognize and improve its shortcomings, while also making new friends.

“Listening to other orchestras play also allows us to pinpoint our strengths and weaknesses and learn from their musicianship ability,” Liou said.
