The Chiefs have already found their MVP candidate for this season: the referees. Even though Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ statistics are far from his best ever, the Chiefs, 6-0 as I write this, seem to get more than their fair share of breaks from the officials
Exhibit No. 1: In their first game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5, many pass interference calls against Kansas City went uncalled.
In one key play, Ravens tight end Isiah Likely — the star player of the game — got pushed, yet there was no call from the field. In a game against the Bengals on Sept. 15, there were also multiple no calls for obvious holdings by the Chiefs offensive line.
While the Chiefs are the only undefeated team and the reigning Super Bowl champions, they’re getting more help than they really need.
In my view, the alliance between the refs and Chiefs needs to be stopped.
