While it may seem like a thing of the past, the movies remains the best place for a romantic evening. AMC 14, the closest movie theater to the school, is the No. 1 place for students to go on a date because of its variety of movie choices as well as its proximity to many eateries.
“It really is a nice place to go to,” senior Naveed Riaziat said. “As a sophomore I found it was convenient to go to and really enjoyed spending time there, watching a movie and picking up some food to eat while talking.”
Located in El Paseo de Saratoga shopping complex, the theater is close enough to Saratoga homes to make it accessible to couples of any grade level.
The largest part of any date is the choice of movie to choose, and with Valentine's day coming up the movie choices are key for the date. Depending on the particular tastes of your date, there is currently a movie playing that can match any genre.
“I really like watching an eclectic mix of movies,” junior Rachel Won said. “Personally I don’t have a set movie I like to watch at the moment, but there is a lot of choices to go from currently.”
At AMC, currently the best romantic comedy playing is the “The Choice,” the best comedy is “Ride Along 2,” and the best action drama is “The Revenant.” All these movies have their qualities to shape the date and can make the next few hours special and more intimate.
The theater also borders a small mall and several restaurants. From fast-food outlets like Panda Express, to sit-down dinners like Red Robin or Mimi’s Cafe, the complex has choices that fit any budget and all tastes.
And if a full meal is not of interest, there there is a variety of small snack places to explore, such as the Baskin Robbins ice-cream parlor adjacent to the theater or the Jamba Juice nearby in the plaza.
As a great place to spend a relaxing, fun few hours, AMC 14 is in a prime location that offers only the best for a special date.
