The girls’ basketball team has faced numerous challenges over the course of the season, one being the lack of veteran players on the team. Nevertheless, the Falcons have managed to consistently perform well.
Now the girls are half-way through El Camino League play with a record of 7-0, which has secured them a spot in CCS.
“The last couple of games we didn’t play that smart but we played hard, so we haven’t lost a game yet,” freshman post Puck de Roos said. “We need to improve on thinking more when we are playing.”
The team defeated Los Altos 44-36 on Jan. 27. Junior guard Kimberly Chou led the team with 14 points and sophomore guard Dharini Ramaswamy added 12 points.
The Falcons also beat Fremont 50-38 on Jan. 24 and Monta Vista 53-45 on Jan. 20.
They will play Santa Clara and Cupertino on Jan. 31 and Feb. 3, respectively.
“The second half of league is coming up, and we already have a spot,” de Roos said. “So bring it on CCS.”
