Seniors are well known for the “senioritis” that affects them come second semester, and although seniors are treated to a wide variety of end of the year activities, the notorious Senior Ditch Day — usually the first regular day after Senior Prom — is a day seniors treat themselves to.
But not so much this year on Tuesday, May 26.
Many seniors were forced to stay at school due to their class schedules and activities that they couldn’t miss.
“I had two presentations and a project due, so I had to come to school,” said senior Caroline Liddle.
Seniors like Liddle chose to show up to school rather than receive a zero on their assignment, and thus they couldn’t partake in Senior Ditch Day.
“I wish I was able to participate in the Ditch Day,” Liddle said. “The seniors have worked really hard the past four years and they deserve a day to just relax.”
Other students candidly admitted they ditched on May 26 and found ways to ditch despite their in-class work.
“[Although I had a Stats presentation first period], my friends and I went on a road trip to San Francisco after first,” senior Mahir Jethanandani said. “We spent the entire day walking around and eating at Ghiradelli.”
