Homecoming 2014 will certainly be a week to remember as it came to a close with a victorious football game, successful dance and crowning of the Homecoming Court.
Members of Homecoming Court were paraded at halftime during the Oct. 24 football game against Monta Vista High School.
Seniors Anish Srinivasan and Jade Bisht were crowned Homecoming king and queen respectively. They were accompanied by senior princes Joey Medeiros and Josh Pi and senior princesses Tia Jones and Adrienne Kim. Junior Homecoming prince and princess were Luke Salin and Katie McLaughlin, and the sophomores elected Steve Lai and Spring Ma for their class. Freshmen were represented by Roland Shen and Avni Madhani.
The results of the Homecoming competition were also released: Seniors won with 414 out of 460 points. Juniors placed second with 387 points, sophomores took third with 325 points, and the freshmen trailed behind with 98 points. The classes were evaluated with two grading criteria in mind: decorations and Quad Day performances.
The freshmen, due to disqualification in decorations and actors deviating from their Quad Day script, suffered from severe point deductions. Sophomores celebrated from a one-point victory over the juniors in Quad Day evaluations, although they fell behind due to a lack of participation in decorations.
The juniors, however, had many participants and decorated their section of the quad impressively, winning the Homecoming decorations category. The class of 2015 took it home with their entertaining and collective Quad Day and earned the most points overall.
