But after a long day, the time comes when students are ready to relax. With many new TV shows airing this spring and summer, there is sure to be something for everyone.
One highly anticipated show coming to CBS is “Friends with Better Lives,” a comedy about six friends, who are at different stages in their lives, and their relationships. Premiering on April 7, this series will air every Monday night at 8:30 pm.
In addition, “The 100” will haunt viewers on Wednesday nights. The show, which began in March, is based on an upcoming book by Kass Morgan. The plot starts when Earth has been destroyed by Nuclear Armageddon, and all human civilization is left into the hands of 400 survivors. Due to 12 international space stations, three generations have been born in space letting the human race increase to a number of 4,000.
Now after 97 years, resources are running low and leaders of this new race are forced to take extreme measures to maintain the race. These drastic measures include secretly exiling 100 prisoners to Earth in order to determine whether the planet is safe for rehabilitation again. These prisoners will be the first time in a century to set foot on Earth. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats, waiting to see where their journey will take them.
Another new show, “Silicon Valley,” airing on April 6 on HBO, questions the culture and community of the technology hub of the world. As high school students growing up here, this new TV show will be very easy to relate to.
Additionally, for anyone seeking excitement and creation, look no further than “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge.” First airing in late March, the shows pits 10 aspiring creatorsagainst each other as they try to win $100,000 and a future job. All they have to do is out-do their fellow contestants and build new mechanical characters. Helping them bring inanimate objects to life are several world-renowned designers and specialists. These include: Julie Zobel, Peter Brooke and John Criswell.
The mentors and creature creators will work alongside each other to provoke the most creative inventions. Viewers of this show will be able to see how these inanimate objects come to life. The creative challenges in the series will show the process behind the creature building, from conceptual design to sculpting, mechanization and fabrication. Each episode will also end with on-set performances of the creative life-like creations, with one creator getting eliminated every week.
