Twenty-four girls in the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math club visited the headquarters of Google on Nov. 25 and gained insights into potential careers.
“WiSTEM wants to not have girls just hear about what they can do in the fields of STEM, but actually get them to see that it is an option for them,” said junior Tanuja Mohan.
Mohan said the club got a taste of what a career in STEM entails by going on this field trip.
“By going on field trips to companies like Google, the girls get to see the type of environment they could be working in and gain advice from experienced workers,” Mohan said.
The girls toured the Googleplex and talked to four women working at Google about their jobs, Google's goals and how Google views future technology.
“The girls got to see what the campus of Google was like and the speakers were very informative about their jobs, experience, and the path they took to get to where they are today,” she said.
