Music students often meet and work with students from California, but on March 14 they were bonding with students from across the nation. From Ultimate Frisbee on the lower field to a dance-off in DONthe quad, Saratoga students got to know the 50 Anoka, Minn., students who had traveled across the country to hold a joint concert with them.

With only 44 days between setting the final casting lists and opening night, the One Act Festival, directed by members of the drama department, will be a rushed composition of eight different shows. All seven shows and one movie are comedy based but some are more serious. The seven seniors and one junior director choose their own play and cast and directed the entire act.

All seven shows will be performed each night on April 25, 26 and 27 in the McAfee Center.

Administrators have canceled this year’s Sadie Hawkins Dance — the traditional culmination of Spring Fling week — because of the drinking that occurred at the holiday dance in December. Despite the cancellation of Sadie’s, three formal dances, Winter Ball, Junior Prom and Senior Prom, remain on schedule.

As Super Tuesday draws near, the fight for the presidency begins to heat up. On Tuesday, 22 states will host primary elections, and in the days before, Democrats and Republicans, not to mention Independents, Populists and Green Party members–throughout the country will read over voter information booklets in order to decide whom they will support.

Traditionally, student activism involves posting flyers around campus to reach out to the student body. But with the use of Facebook prevalent throughout the school, online groups are now the focus for those trying to organize—and sometimes stir up—students.

Most students let off steam after final exams, but junior Ray-young Tsao was literally letting off steam after eating the hottest and spiciest chicken wings he had ever eaten.

As throngs of students hurried through the hallways on the first day of second semester, one figure was walking slower, taking her time to figure out the complicated arrangement of classrooms. Senior Inga Feldman, an exchange student from Donaueschingen, Germany, was finding her way in a new world.
