Year comes to a close for music dept April 26, 2010 — by Kyumin Shim and Ashley Tang The year is slowing down for students in the music department, as they prepare for end-of-year concerts and small events. The annual Pancake Breakfast, taking place on May 2, is a highlight of the year for many students, because it gives all the music department members, including band, choir and orchestra, a chance to perform at a casual concert while enjoying eating pancakes with their friends. read more » Students tame the Wild Wild West April 23, 2010 — by Lillian Chen and Jenny Zhang This year 22 lucky students got to spend the last six days of their spring break with history teachers Matt Torrens and Kim Anzalone on a Wild Wild West trip to Utah where they jeeped, rappelled, hiked, biked, and did various fun outdoor activities. Alumni offer perspectives on their college experiences April 5, 2010 — by Lillian Chen and Girish Swaminath A series of alumni speakers were invited to the school's College and Career Center during their spring breaks recently to describe their college experiences. The College and Career Center coordinator, Bonnie Sheikh, called the visits "a great opportunity for [students] to talk to alumni" and gain "a practical perspective." One of the many parent volunteers, Maya Baba, explained the process of planning this unforgettable night. "We start planning for it around June [the year before], when parents get together to create the themes and decorations," she said.
