Two seniors take on challenging internships at Cisco

During the infamous second semester of senior year, most seniors are relaxing and enjoying their last few months before college. Two seniors, however, will continue to work much harder than their peers.

Seniors Michael Song and Jonathan Tien have been working as interns for Cisco after alumna Christina Lee, from the class of ‘08, left Cisco Systems and went to Caltech as a junior.

Seniors transform summer project into curb-painting business

Most students learn the principles of supply and demand in class, but two seniors Stephen McInnis and Atticus Wong have taken their education outside of the classroom by starting a business selling do-it-yourself address number painting kits for curbs. Although they are just starting up, McInnis and Wong have already designed a kit and found a manufacturer.

The J-room. This phrase is often tossed around on campus, yet many students do not know what it means. The Journalism Room can always be found filled with students screaming for their stories and editors dashing across the room to a printer. The Journalism team is nothing if not a bustling work environment, yet publication staffs have also come to share a close, familiar bond.

Wider variety of video games appeals to wider audience

Ten years ago, it probably would have been inconceivable to imagine parents playing video games with their children, and hard to find a girl who could be truly labeled as a “gamer.” In recent years, more people with different ages, genders and backgrounds are picking up game controllers mainly due to a wider variety of video games and game consoles.

Someone walking into a chemistry classroom would expect to see test tubes, lab coats and supplies of explosive chemicals. A person walking into chemistry teacher Kathy Chang’s class on Jan. 7, however, was instead greeted by furry little animals, which could be seen from every corner of her room.
