Now those changes are continuing with more high-tech projection systems being installed in classrooms throughout campus and $75,000 worth of equipment being donated to the weight room. The school acquired the new weight room equipment after new management of the Quito Shopping Center tripled 24 Hour Fitness’ lease, effectively forcing them out because they were looking for businesses that would attract customers to shop at multiple venues in one outing. read more » Boys’ cross country barely miss state finals November 20, 2008 — by Sophia Cooper and Kelly Lamble They were so close. The sophomores in white, juniors in blue and seniors in red followed suit as Rihanna blasted from the stereo. The Olympic-themed rally got underway with a dance from the rally commission. Seniors Mat Spencer, Michael Guercio and Joey Avery as well as sophomore Aaditya Dev, sashayed around the gym floor bare-chested in Chinese rice farmer hats and red shorts. The friends eventually came up with an alternative, a way to avoid the unhealthy and expensive Frappucinos and scones. They began “neighbor breakfasts,” and invited fellow neighbor James Huang to join in on the pancake and waffle making adventure. “Christina and I used to meet at Starbucks on Wednesday mornings,” said Finch. “We thought it would be fun to make breakfast instead.” read more » Boys’ tennis remains unbeatable March 31, 2008 — by Mika Padmanabhan and Kelly Lamble This year’s boys’ varsity tennis team has proved unstoppable. As of March 28, they remain undefeated. Especially dominant have been the team’s singles players. In fact, No. 1 singles player John Lamble is leading the impressive squad with an impressive undefeated record and has not even dropped a set. Lamble, who has been playing since he was 5 years old, is currently ranked 55th in the nation in the under 18’s division at only 15 years old. School upgrades weight room, projection systems December 5, 2008 — by Kelly Lamble and Alex Sclavos The school has undergone some significant aesthetic changes, including renovation of the gym and football field, in the past few years. Now those changes are continuing with more high-tech projection systems being installed in classrooms throughout campus and $75,000 worth of equipment being donated to the weight room. The school acquired the new weight room equipment after new management of the Quito Shopping Center tripled 24 Hour Fitness’ lease, effectively forcing them out because they were looking for businesses that would attract customers to shop at multiple venues in one outing. read more » Boys’ cross country barely miss state finals November 20, 2008 — by Sophia Cooper and Kelly Lamble They were so close. Juniors trespass on senior parking spots September 15, 2008 — by Kelly Lamble By the time students get to their senior year at Saratoga High School, they are worn out from the multitude of homework, SATs, and AP tests. These hardworking students are, as seniors, expecting some relaxation that comes with the perks of entering the final year of their high school career. One of the most fundamental things they expect out of their senior year is a prime parking spot—one of the coveted ones in the front of the school. This year’s juniors, however, seem to have missed the memo and insist on taking spots designated for the weary senior class. The friends eventually came up with an alternative, a way to avoid the unhealthy and expensive Frappucinos and scones. They began “neighbor breakfasts,” and invited fellow neighbor James Huang to join in on the pancake and waffle making adventure. “Christina and I used to meet at Starbucks on Wednesday mornings,” said Finch. “We thought it would be fun to make breakfast instead.” read more » Boys’ tennis remains unbeatable March 31, 2008 — by Mika Padmanabhan and Kelly Lamble This year’s boys’ varsity tennis team has proved unstoppable. Lamble, who has been playing since he was 5 years old, is currently ranked 55th in the nation in the under 18’s division at only 15 years old.
