  1. “Wizards of Waverly Place” (2007-2012)

The show is a Disney channel teen sitcom that is centered on three siblings born into the Russo family of wizards as they try to navigate the real world without revealing their secret powers. Starring Selena Gomez as Alex Russo, David Henrie as Justin Russo, and Jake T. Austin as Max Russo, this series goes out of the box to amuse the audience with funny jokes and interesting plots each episode. This fantasy world containing wizards, vampires, werewolves and more is worth watching to explore a new universe.

  1. “The Vampire Diaries” (2009-2017)

An American supernatural drama on The CW, “The Vampire Diaries” is loosely based on the popular book series of the same name written by L. J. Smith.  The plot allows the seemingly ordinary girl, Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev), and how her world gets turned upside down when a mysterious vampire, Stefan Salvatore (played by Paul Wesley), moves into the neighborhood, with his devious older brother, vampire Damon Salvatore (played by Ian Somerhalder), trailing closely behind. This dynamic love triangle captivates audience members, as both the brothers sacrifice so much to be with Elena, but only one ends up with her, so don’t miss out on this heart-wrenching series of vampires, werewolves, witches and so much more.

“Pretty Little Liars,” an American thriller and mystery teen show based on the hit book series of the same name written by Sara Shepard. The series follows four high school girls, Aria Montgomery (played by Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin, (played by Ashley Benson), Spencer Hastings, (played by Troian Bellisario), and Emily Fields (played by Shay Mitchell). They get tormented and stalked by the mysterious “A” after their clique leader Alison DiLaurentis (played by Sasha Pieterse), is supposedly kidnapped and murdered. This show is a must-watch as it leaves the audience at the edge of their seat with thrilling plot twists and betrayals.

Entrepreneurs pitch their ideas and creations to four tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoons — the “sharks” — in hopes of getting investments for their product or idea. The show airs every Sunday on ABC and has inspired thousands of Americans to pursue their dreams of entrepreneurship. This show is important to watch because it teaches the audience about the real business world and encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to make their ideas known.

5. “Chopped” (2008-2017)

“Chopped” is an American reality-based competitive cooking show. It airs on Food Network and brings together four chefs from around the world to go head-to-head in a chance to win $10,000. In each of the three rounds (appetizer, entree, dessert), there is a basket of mystery ingredients that they must incorporate in their dishes. After each round, the judges critique the dishes and chefs will get “chopped,” or sent home one by one, until only two remain for the dessert round. “Chopped” gives home cooks a chance to gain publicity and show off their unique talents.
