Students earned class points by coming to school dressed in their pajamas. It was a fun, easy way for everyone to participate and boost school spirit.

“Pajama day was sick with all the school spirit and seeing everyone dressed in such laid-back clothes. It was refreshing and relaxing at the same time,” junior Parth Shah said.

The spirit commission decided on pajama day as the second spirit day of the year because it was easy to dress up for and the demand for a pajama spirit day had been building up.

“We heard many students and teachers like English teacher Natasha Ritchie were interested in having a pajama day,” senior head spirit commissioner Shilpa Nagesh said. “It was something that we haven’t had in a long time, so we decided to try it.”

The spirit day was a success with more than 350 people coming to school in their comfiest sleeping attire. Most of the students who participated wore pajama bottoms, but a select few sported bright “onesie” pajamas.

“They have them at Target. I went and got a bunch for my friends, too. They’re super comfortable,” sophomore Ingrid Hong said.

The spirit commission was pleased with the turnout of pajama day and is looking forward to future spirit days.

“We’re planning on having many more spirit days with all sorts of exciting themes,” senior spirit commissioner Zara Sheikh said. “I hope a lot more people will want to participate in them because school spirit should be way more prevalent in our school!”
