Senior class postpones lip-sync

The holidays are a time for tradition, and the senior class fundraiser is succumbing to the same tradition it had hoped to avoid.

In past years, Lip Sync has been the victim of numerous postponements and cancellations, something this year’s senior class officers were hoping to avoid. The annual fundraiser originally scheduled for Dec. 18, has been postponed until the spring due to a lack of participation, said senior class president Lewis Chen.

“There’s not enough people that actually signed up and the people that did sign up wanted it later in the year,” said Chen.

Because only three groups have signed up, Chen hopes that with the postponement more will participate in the event.

“Hopefully we can get the word out. Not a lot of people actually know what Lip Sync is,” said Chen. “I think people just stopped going because the school got more academic instead of wanting to have fun.”
