Random, useless conversations are underrated

I can’t be the only one who misses wasting time in class?

While there are many things to miss about in-person school, one of the things I miss most is random conversations in class:  just wasting time talking. It’s not that I want to “waste” time per se — I love my classes and my teachers — but the idea of talking about nonacademic things with my teachers and random people appeals to me.
I didn’t appreciate those moments when someone blurts out something completely random in class until they stopped happening.
Having Zoom classes eliminates any opportunity for spur-of-the-moment conversation. Since everyone spends at least five seconds debating whether to unmute themselves before they talk, there’s no room for anything bizarre and weirdly entertaining to happen.
So please, to anyone reading this, I would really appreciate it if you found the courage to blurt out something random or start a random conversation in class with me. It would make me and everyone else extremely happy.
