Many of the remaining matches lost in close sets. The No. 2 doubles team of freshman Arathi Sabada and junior Cori Posadas lost 6-3, 7-5, while the No. 1 doubles team of seniors Lisa Asai and Sarah Lum lost 7-5, 6-1.

“I felt the match was within our grasp, but we let it slip away,” coach Tom Uyehara said. “However, the season is long from over, and CCS is where it really matters.”

The team is preparing for tough matches against Archbishop Mitty on Oct. 5 and Menlo on Oct. 12. The girls will play Monta Vista again at home on Oct. 25.
