After losing the first two games of their season, the Falcons managed to recoup their struggling offense and crush the Westmont Warriors 27-13 in their Sept. 26 home opening game.

Though the Warriors scored first early in the second quarter, the Falcons quickly answered back with a touchdown run by senior quarterback Michael Guercio. Both teams missed their extra points, tying the game at 6-6. The Warriors quickly put up 7 points of their own, but senior Mat Spencer intercepted a pass late in the second quarter and returned it for a touchdown, ending the half with a tied score of 13-13.

Neither teams scored in the third quarter due to strong defense, but Guercio managed to score again with 7:26 left in the game, giving the Falcons a 19-13 lead. They ended up scoring another touchdown on a run by Spencer, ending the hopes of a fourth quarter comeback by the Warriors.
