100-word rant: Please, I don’t want to freeze in class

100 word rant

I wake up to a beautiful morning in the middle of March. It’s a little chilly so I ask my Amazon Alexa for the forecasted weather.

“Today in Saratoga, California, expect a high of 70 degrees and a low of 56 degrees.”

It’s going to be a bit chilly, but for once I can take a break from thick sweats and wear some nice clothes. I throw on a flannel with a pair of jeans and leave for school.

But as I enter my Spanish class, the atmosphere suddenly drops nearly 10 degrees. I’m trying to have a conversation with my classmates to get those three points of participation, but instead, I have to channel my energy into shivering so I can survive the Arctic-like environment.

I know many teachers don’t have control over the heat or air conditioning in their rooms. Here’s hoping something can be done so that we students don’t have to dress like we’re going to ski in the middle of spring.
